Re-watching the series, lo, these many years on, I am struck by how much Bo's defiance of convention and her assigned role mirrors the obstreperous machinations of Lucifer in Milton's "Paradise Lost," although apparently the Latin Vulgate "non serviam" does not, in fact, appear in that text, but rather derives from the translation of Jeremiah 2:20 into that language. Nevertheless, as shorthand, it embodies the essence of what I wish to suggest - that the Greek Hades' aura of dark defiance is there from the very beginning in his progeny, and there is a yin-yang-like self-seeding process of order and chaos, reflective of the cyclic rise and fall of generations of numinous powers in Greek mythology. Such a reading would make Bo the Zeus sui generis, to somewhat abuse the Latin roots, overthrowing and dismantling the omnipresent puissance of her sire.

As I say, these are mere meandering contemplations, but I would be interested to know what others take from the series, and how far the overview of a binge review differs from the steady trickle of weekly episodes over years.
